• Powdered/fine granulated concrete admixture that aids in delaying the setting of Portland cement and maintaining slump life for any period of time between a half an hour to a few days, depending on the dosage rate
Normal dosage is 0.25 lb/yd3 to 0.5 lb/yd3 of concrete, added as soon as concrete is batched at the batching plant
Consult manufacturer for higher dosages
• Very useful for maintaining slump and minimizing slump loss, particularly in hot weather conditions
• Very potent retarder. Trial batch is required to determine the set retardation
• May be used as a Hydration Stabilizer for concrete or cementitious materials. Dosage of higher than 0.5 lb/yd3 may retard concrete more than 24 hours depending on the ambient concrete temperature and other factors
• Compatible with most of the concrete admixtures and secondary cementitious materials (SCM)
• Based on experience, Trumix Retarder gives higher long-term strength of concrete
